    Yes, four out of six of them, with alternatives for the other two

            @Tutanota I use all the tools on the right (just chose a different non-Google search engine), but I haven't been able to get off WhatsApp, although I have significantly reduced the contacts who are only available there...

            @ditsch42

            I have circumvented the WhatsApp issue to a degree by using Beeper. And although Beeper "needs" google play, you can alternatively use microG instead.

            As a bonus, once you have signed up with Beeper, because it is built upon Matrix you can actually use any Matrix client to log in, and still have access to all you contacts which is exactly what I do on Ubuntu Touch.

                @alexadeswift I have tried Beeper before, but I encountered some issues (don't remember what exactly, something about notifications not being sent properly). I'll rather keep campaigning for the last few people to install Signal πŸ˜„

                    @Tutanota but Signal is American. Why not something European like Olvid or Threema?

                            i use only tutanota and keepassxc so far

                            because for messaging i prefer xmpp (it doesnt ask phone number and is still encrypted) and deltachat (it doesnt ask for email even)
                            as search engine i use 4get (ecosia has ai chat, maybe its private but still upsets me)
                            instead of linux i switched to freebsd because of recent discoveries about scripts that call non-specialized ai for discovering vulnerabilities in kernel (more of security concern than privacy concern)

                            all are open-source software so far

                                          @ditsch42
