@mcc I'm basically a death and a bad reaction to it away from it.

Poll: How do you think about the idea of homelessness?
@mcc
I both don't think it will happen but also can so-easily see it happening.As I drive around the city I scout for locations where I could camp out in a hidden way to be able to sleep for the night if I were homeless.

Poll: How do you think about the idea of homelessness?
@mcc I am very secure in my housing situation, but also I live in America. It's hard to not feel like you're one medical emergency away from a lot of situations that may feel like a distant possibility today.

I feel pretty confident that I could, worst case, be one personal tragedy away from serious hardship, including, but not limited to, alcoholism and homelessness. I don't expect it, but who does?
Life can be brutal. None of us can tell what tomorrow brings. Be kind.

@mcc Intellectually 2, but I know emotionally 1.

Poll: How do you think about the idea of homelessness?
@mcc @mayintoronto I have too much exposure to wise people (partly on here) to even think about voting "it would never happen to me". It absolutely could happen to me if things go wrong enough. It could happen to pretty much anyone, whether or not they want to think about it.
(It doesn't even need to be poverty. I know people who had the building they were renting an apartment in catch on fire, and my commute route takes me past one such place.)

@mcc been really fucking close before, and it’s a non-zero chance in the next few years.
