                @glyph I see this turbo-dash in Chinese a lot, to distinguish it from the common character 一, but it does make the pauses feel more dramatic to me

                  @glyph I am more the bracketting type (I might have used it (grammatically (utterly) wrong but (on occasion) (even hree layers (or even more) deep))).

                      @liaizon @glyph wwwooowww ⸻ is there even a two em one?

                      I have lately upgraded my em-game by learning to free hand type Unicode-chars with CTRL+SHIFT+u followed by codepoint and then ENTER. Em-dash is 2014 for example. Works on Debian at least 🙂
