One of the #Drupal's biggest problems is attracting new and younger contributors to the project, and doing things like having a gala that costs $125 to attend seems antithetical to having an open and welcoming community.

Anyone interested in organizing a counter-event during that same time that is open to everyone and explicitly welcoming to new and casual contributors?

@mikemccaffrey That's only telling half the story, right? There are tickets for $25 as well, including food, drinks, music, and community. I'd say that's not a bad deal.

@jurgenhaas @mikemccaffrey The other half of the story is the DA and so many people finding it super normal to spend thousands to travel to a fascist shithole to go and party like nothing's wrong while the country that set itself on fire is also setting the world on fire.
