haha you said it. my daughter (a regular cyclist) has been making fun of it for a while.

me, being the cheapskate i am: "i can probably get another year out of this and put off paying $70 for a new tire". meanwhile, every car spending $70 for each tank of gas.

@Mumonkan holy smokes you were riding on inner tubes! after riding in chicago for a few years i quickly learned the importance of coughing up at least a gas tank of clams for good tires. the number of flats went from weekly to never.

I doubt you'll get many flats. Schwalbe Marathon Plus Tours are great.

this bike came with decent continental tires that served me well. but i have schwalbe on my "acoustic" bike and i think i have had like 3 flats in 20+ years. so i am a fan for sure.

this new one may very well outlive me!

After getting some punctures on other tyres, I switched to the Marathon "Plus" series of tyres and haven't had a puncture since. Needless to say, I'm a big fan too!
