@colinstu they'd still have to use the same payment providers in the end

@colinstu problem is that at the end of the day, you still need payment providers... Can't wait for the EU to break the visa/mastercard duopoly

@barnibu I don't know why sites / users can't "just" decouple the money from what's going on and get around these bogus restrictions.

Perhaps allow users to buy fake on-site currency / points and spend it on others to follow that way? Plenty of adult platforms have figured this out and existed just fine past all this shit.

@barnibu @colinstu I fear as though European providers would not necessarily solve those problems either, unfortunately. If anything, it feels as though European providers (e. g. Hetzner) are quite bad when it comes to hosting more. Questionable content.

@anubis @barnibu huh? Hetzner already takes down too many sites right now with zero reason (besides the fact they're hosting LGBTQ and sex stuff).

@colinstu @barnibu I apologise, I do not quite understand? I was simply trying to say that I do not believe that European providers would necessarily be better when it comes to hosting more questionable content and, potentially, worse. Reading the terms and conditions of other German / European VPS providers make it quite clear that they do not enjoy questionable content. Hetzner was simply an example

netcup – The following activities are expressly prohibited: Actions intended to store and provide access to material of a pornographic or commercially erotic character and any material protected by copyright for whose dissemination the user is not authorised (e.g. hosting of warez sites, illegal MP3 downloads, etc.). Actions intended to store and provide access to files and material concerning left-or right-wing radicalism, with offensive content, or encouraging terrorism or acts of violence

Scaleway – All Content that is violent in nature, that constitutes incitement to terrorism, that could
seriously infringe upon human dignity or incite minors to participate in games that are a
threat to their physical safety or that is pornographic is strictly prohibited, in particular if it
can potentially be seen or observed by a minor

Strato – The customer undertakes, further, not to offer any domains or content for retrieval that are/is of an extremist (in particular right-wing extremist) nature or that show/s content that is pornographic, commercially erotic, violent or that glorifies violence, or is racist, discriminatory, harmful to minors or seditious, nor domains or content that incite criminal acts or amount to instructions for such acts. This shall also apply where such content is made available via hyperlinks or other links that the customer provides on sites of third parties.
