@filmfreak75 @autistics you know how every so often, there's a social media post "tag your superpower"? THAT is my superpower.
@akamran i’ve been striving to normalize everything and make more of us feel seen

@filmfreak75 @autistics
Me

I will add though, with “the benefit of age” and learning not to give a crap about any of it, makes it very empowering
“Ohh you don’t like it? Well you don’t have to be here.”
-
@filmfreak75 ooops... Is that autistic, too? The elephant in the room is my pet.
And I had to "learn", that people who start with "let's be honest" definitely don't mean THAT honest. @autistics -
@filmfreak75 @autistics
That’s totally me!
But let’s be honest, it‘s also an ADHD superpower.

oh yeah. The meaning of the word "honesty" or "truth". Fell into that trap a million times.learned, very reluctantly, to be more careful and still thinking about how to phrase my honesty and truth for an allistic audience, taking into account, that there is a bit of a language gap.I now tend to announce my remarks in a way that frames them for allistic understanding.
It's one of the areas where I truly deeply value being neurodivergent- and value other neurodivergents contributions. -

I once read "Truth is something you have to give to others like a warming coat, not slap it into their face". And that changed a lot for me. Though I can still slap it into faces when they deserve it. But I count to three with people I don't want to hurt. Does not work every time, I must admit. @filmfreak75 @autistics -

Does not work every time, I must admit. @filmfreak75 @autistics@Dodo_sipping @filmfreak75 @autistics I wasn't actually thinking about hurting legit feelings. My experience is more about sticking my whole arm into the hornets nest in terms of group politics, things you "can't say" cus of vested interests, male fragility and stuff like that. I found out that I have to frame my thoughts with some social engineering blah, if I want to have a better chance at being heard and maybe bring myself into a better position for when the backlash arrives.
lies are so prevalent in any social system, no matter where. I've learned to live with that reality.
That's not the same as not wantng to hurt peoples feelings. Which I genuinely don't want. -

@Dodo_sipping @filmfreak75 @autistics well, for an autistic female it's ( let me use my favourite chorus again) an intersectional problem.
