    @sean_ae The spectral profile from led lamps is often also somewhat nauseating tbh

      @sfn the irony here is i'm after a few Luxo L-1s for a room i'm fitting out

      for some reason the E27 version isn't available in Norway and i have to get it from mainland EU

      in Norway you can only get the LED version

      like why tf is there only an LED version of a lamp designed in 1937 available in the country the lamp was designed in

                  @sfn this is what's so maddening about the Luxos, i mean they didn't really change the design on the E27 one at all they just made the internals a bit safer

                  but an LED L-1 with a built in bulb is just all kinds of wrong, someone needs to have a word with them

                      @sean_ae yeah the built in leds are kind of very hard to understand lol

                      i do walk into all the time πŸ˜„ and it swings back and forth a bit until settles πŸ˜„ but yeah its just pretty plus there is a built in dimmer which i like

                      i really liked also this from Artemide: https://www.artemide.com/contents/immagini/subfamily/stellar_nebula_gallery5085354-1920x1080.jpg not a work lamp but its so pretty, not for my wallet tho lol, i think the table version (this) is like 2000 eur

                                    @sean_ae I love that we solved the problem of replaceable bulbs by making the whole lamp the bulb! Can’t wait for proper subscription lights. 5 Euros a month or darkness.

                                    PS - I did actually find a lamp that is literally a bulb. Behold:

                                        @sfn is that gold-reflected light? that's a concept and a half

                                        looks like a nice glow

                                        @sean_ae yeah it is! the inside is a thin layer of spray painted gold i think (or it looks like). im a bit sensitive to light (loads of eye surgeries) so i love lamps that barely do anything πŸ˜„
