@sean_ae 8 years, if all goes well... unfortunately, you have to expect planned obsolescence too

@sean_ae The spectral profile from led lamps is often also somewhat nauseating tbh

@sfn the irony here is i'm after a few Luxo L-1s for a room i'm fitting out
for some reason the E27 version isn't available in Norway and i have to get it from mainland EU
in Norway you can only get the LED version
like why tf is there only an LED version of a lamp designed in 1937 available in the country the lamp was designed in

@sfn tizios are well lush
i did consider tolomeos but i heard they're a bit flimsy these days so i thought why not go for the uber classic plus it's norwegian ykwim

@sean_ae yeah but tbh they are so iconic i just had to get one
its the one i use on my desk that only has the genelecs, laptop and killamix pretty much. its like its part of the setup
that chair i showed u a good good while ago is also norwegian design and made in norway, HΓ G Capisco, whats up with norway making so many well balanced things btw, great design, functional and timeless really

@sean_ae btw when i was digging through lamps i also got a small one of this: https://midgard.com/collections/ayno they are mad cool imo, i still havent found a great place for it its just there on a coffee table but its one of my fav design wise. should have gotten the big floor one but its a bit too expensive

@sfn this is what's so maddening about the Luxos, i mean they didn't really change the design on the E27 one at all they just made the internals a bit safer
but an LED L-1 with a built in bulb is just all kinds of wrong, someone needs to have a word with them

@sfn i would be walking into that thing all the time but it is very pretty
the big tolomeos are nice looking as well but you see them everywhere now

@sean_ae yeah the built in leds are kind of very hard to understand lol
i do walk into all the time
and it swings back and forth a bit until settles
but yeah its just pretty plus there is a built in dimmer which i likei really liked also this from Artemide: https://www.artemide.com/contents/immagini/subfamily/stellar_nebula_gallery5085354-1920x1080.jpg not a work lamp but its so pretty, not for my wallet tho lol, i think the table version (this) is like 2000 eur

@sfn yeah that's sweet and also very weird, like 'how about we make an egg emitting a rainbow lol'
i love artimede and i don't think they're too expensive; if you want it to look like that it's not like you can find a budget option
