Want to play a game? Here's a photo of two identical machined stainless steel objects. Can you figure out what they are and where they're from?
I *think* both questions can be answered but lets see!

UPDATE: 1/2 They're indeed high quality coat hooks. Now where are they from?
@Pepijn
I think I've seen something like that on flat pack furniture - they push into a hole and another rotating piece locks/captures them? Would explain the visible scratch marks. -

@Pepijn Reel-too-reel tape guides?

Here's a photo showing some dimensions. Main body is 23mm. The thread 5 or 6mm.
@Pepijn cufflinks for an engineer

@Pepijn look like these little nubs from the back fork of a motorcycle to pick it up for maintenance.

@Pepijn These look like parts of the tape path on a reel to reel deck.

@Pepijn
- too small for doorknobs
- too small for cabinet feet
- too big for electronic equipment feet.
- scratched. Someone (you?) needed pliers (what's combinatietang in English) too get it out.Intended as hooks for hanging something with a cord on?
Machining in the middle bit is a bit coarse. A machining exercise?

@grb090423 This was the easy part. Now the difficult part: where are they from!

If they were 5/8" diameter, and the thread was 1/4", they could be used at a pinch to put a camera on a lighting stand, coathanger or not.

Where are they from: a train. Nederlandsche Spoorwegen? -
@Pepijn

@mattdawhit Nope. While similar these are very much for a "less destructive" home setting. Not having the support to deal with heavy / crude weights etc.

Lol, yes. I saw that part. I honestly have no idea!
Do you mean where can we buy them, or where did you remove them from
