      @Pepijn they look a bit like doorknobs, although depending on the scale of the picture they'd have very small handles or very big threads.

        For screwing into a motorbike swing arm so it can be placed on a paddock stand

              @raphv @Pepijn was my first thought as well, but arent doorknobs usually extending to the other site (at least that reflects 100% of my experiences with doorknobs)?

                                  I think I've seen something like that on flat pack furniture - they push into a hole and another rotating piece locks/captures them? Would explain the visible scratch marks.
