@kimhu Then, if I may, I really like how metamerism in 'Lumbricidae' (earthworms) means that all of their rings have small versions of organs like the kidneys and the neural ganglia and thus each ring has a small brain and small kidneys of their own.

@kimhu yesterday I found out about the existence of slow worms which look and move like snakes but aren't snakes, aren't slow, and aren't worms at all! They're in fact legless lizards. Fascinating! That's my worm(-adjacent) fact of the day.

@kimhu you should look up how the giant african leech eats the giant worm, this video will not scar you for life, it is very tasteful and not upsetting

@kimhu alternatively look up the velvet worm which is technically not a worm but still a very cuddly creature

@kimhu Earthworms have small bristles to get around better, and you can even feel them when holding one on your hand 🪥🪱

@kimhu worms have ten hearts, I've seen them. The hearts are arranged in two columns of five and have tubes connecting them. This is remembered from an awfully long time ago so take it with a grain of dirt.

@kimhu Well, jumping worms are a thing. "Instead of typical earthworm crawling, they violently wiggle, thrash, and can jump into the air, sometimes shedding their tail segments to escape predators or handling."
