@stux a notebook or desktop you can have two windows where when you switch screens and the first screen doesn't drop it's shit and act like you are a new person
@stux especially infuriating when you switch to get one thing then switch again for some email verification for a site that does nothing to deserve such a level of trust

@MarcelNBG @piyuv @stux No, for some hotels they literally offer an โapp discountโ so you find the same room in the same place while logged in as the same user, and itโll be 5% cheaper on the phone.
It does only affect some specific places, and I havenโt seen it since 2024 so Iโm not sure if it still exists. (It definitely saved us 5% on some bookings in Australia 2 years ago; still did the research on the computer first.) -

@stux i'm no purchases or bill paying on a phone. bill paying and buying stuff is only done on a device not used for anything but bill paying and purchases and checking bank acct. i.e. a chromebook bought for that purpose bought on the previous bill paying chromrbook

@stux my rule of thumb is, if it's going to require 2fa, I do it on my computer, because if I try to do it on my phone, by the time I swap out from the browser to the email/messager/other client or whatever to deal with the authentication, fucking android will have cannibalised the browser process for memory, and by the time I get back to the browser it will have reset the page DOM and lost all its fucking session state and I have to start again.

@stux
It me.I figure itโs a result of how online shopping creeped over to mobile. There was a time where online shopping was relatively common but shopping via a mobile phone was not yet common.

@stux I made me a simple rule. No monies on my phone, ever.
Phones are hackable and stealable.
