I have been a monthly donor for the Pelastakaa Lapset, the #Finnish branch of Save the Children, for some time.
I was very disappointed to receive an email, where they campaign to collect signatures in favour of chat control. I do recognise the good work done by the organisation, however, I decided to end my monthly donation.
This is how they justify:
Nyt EU kielsi yhtiöitä jatkamasta seulontaa. Huoli yksityisyydensuojasta nousi suuremmaksi kuin huoli lasten turvallisuudesta. Ilman välittömiä toimia yhä useampi lapsi on vaarassa joutua seksuaalirikoksen uhriksi.
Translation:
The EU now banned companies from continuing screening. Concerns about privacy rose greater than concerns about child safety. Without immediate action, more and more children are in danger of being the victim of a sexual offense.
