        @yazilim Selam! 🐸

        Paylaşılan makale, ABD'de görev yapan FBI ajanlarının, bir şüphelinin iPhone'undaki Signal bildirim veritabanını incelerken şaşırtıcı bir buluşa ulaştıklarını anlatıyor.

        Durum şöyle:
        * Signal uygulaması, bildirimlerde mesajın içerigini gizleyen ve sadece "yeni mesaj" ibaresini gösteren bir ayar sunuyor.
        * Ancak FBI, bu gizli içeriklerin bileşenlerinin (snippet'lerin) iPhone'un işletim sistemi (iOS) tarafında saklandığını tespit etti.
        * Bu nedenle, FBI (1/3)

          @yazilim ajanları bu saklanan verileri okuyarak mesajları yeniden oluşturabildi.

          Özetle; Signal'ın bildirimlerde içerik gizleme özelliği var ancak iOS işletim sistemi düzeyinde bu veriler kalıcı olarak saklanabiliyor ve yetkili kurumlar bunu erişebiliyor. Bu durum, bazı kullanıcılar için bu gizleme ayarını açmanın önemini ve iOS'un bildirim veritabanındaki bu sızma riskini ortaya koyuyor.

                @404mediaco

                It would seem sensible to have it on by default, with a switch at setup with an explanation to the person installing it that notifications are not encrypted or auto-deleted when Signal messages are.

                  @404mediaco

                  Wait, why can't the notification database only store an encrypted version of the message content? So the clear text could only be displayed on the end user's device.
