Just heard a great talk on #education in @doughenwood "Behind the news" #podcast. Reminded me that teaching is a profession that was subjected to a F.U.D. (Fear, Uncertainty, Doubt) campaign by #whitesupremacist #broligarchs because it was largely female and human centered. I'm embarrassed that I thought teaching was easy. I remember all of the great #teachers I had in #Montclair and at #HowardUniversity. My mother was master early childhood educator. Thanks Mom.

@doughenwood Mom had a Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education. She and Dad got me into #STEM and eventually #ElectricalEngineering. Dad also had experience teaching #math. Dad helped my build my first antenna and Mom (secretly) financed the purchase of my first transmitter: The #Heathkit #DX60B. #HamRadio #AmateurRadio

It hurts so much to see how the #whitesupremacist #antiscience regime is undermining all of this. What would I tell a 15-year old #STEM geek version of myself now? Forget all that science stuff; it will only get you in trouble? You wont be able to find a job because no one will hire #blackboys like you? Maybe you should be a rapper, play basketball, or do something else nonthreatening to the powers that be?
