@Ashedryden Honestly? I got temporarily obsessed in the last week with learning everything I can about the Barkley Marathons (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barkley_Marathons) after a friend sent me a documentary about it. Highlight of the whole thing has been learning about Jasmin Paris, the first woman to finish it in 2024, there's an excellent short film just about her: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PgTEsybXw-4
@andymcmillan I have never heard of this, it’s so bizarre! And I used to live right near this.

@Ashedryden All the arbitrary rules / lore around the event, especially getting in in the first place, was the initial appeal. But there are some really remarkable people who have done it, and some really compelling stories too turns out.

What’s a good thing that has happened in your world lately?
@Ashedryden I like my new job.
The earliest spring flowers are starting.
I am suddenly more motivated to do and finish things that didn't seem worth it.
I did some sewing last night while being read to from a history book.

@Ashedryden @andymcmillan It just came back for me, and the documentary is excellent. I think I’ve watched it three times.

@Ashedryden when we were chatting at XOXO I had taken a phone call from my contractor. He told me he wasn’t going to be able to start my kitchen project until December.
Turns out he couldn’t start till December ‘25. And the project keeps getting delay after delay but the electricity and plumbing will be ready end of week!
Most of the wall tiles were attached today (sadly Fireclay didn’t send us all the tiles we ordered so… another delay).
But it’s so beautiful!

What’s a good thing that has happened in your world lately?
@Ashedryden I’ve tried to distract myself from the bad by diving into baking and improving my skills… and I have! And I get a delicious reward because of it. (Most of the time.

@Ashedryden It's all part of my master plan to get normies off the commercial platform and onto ActivityPub.
And get them focused on organizing their communities for common good!
@robz @Ashedryden This is super cool!

@Ashedryden Just got back from a trip to Anza-Borrego. The desert was beautiful. Did some interesting hikes, marveled at the stars, and saw a modest display of wildflowers.
