Three weeks in and I think I've finally staved off this tank crash. The heatwave caused a salmonella bloom and I lost 5 fish, two have mild dropsy but may still recover and are being monitored.

4 water changes a week, about 2 grams of polyguard, daily beneficial bacteria infusions and more ammonia remover than I'm comfortable admitting I've used.

Also I think the frogs ate all the ghost shimp I straight up cannot find them.

for the record I am aware that ammonia remover is usually not something you want to use because it masks the real problems, but I needed a right now solution because I was over .2ppm and I could see that everyone but the frogs were stressed by it. Ammonia has *mostly* stabilized at about .04ppm which is till higher than I want but the nitrifying bacteria are still blooming so I think it will go down to almost nothing soonish.
