Meta will turn all kinds of info over if asked by the government with what is considered a warrant. Plus info ends up with data brokers anyways even with out a warrant and now everyone complains about Ice using it so in reality americans cant talk.

@izby WhatsApp is almost completely blocked for few weeks now unless censorship circumvention measures are used. There are some rare exceptions but these are likely temporary misconfiguration.

Sure, if I keep the app running I might be able to get and send messages eventually but it can take hours or days even for them to seep through the cracks so effectively it does not work.

Telegram works but is significantly throttled down. Sending a 100KB image can take 30 minutes. Calls are blocked completely.

What is even worse - phone number verification calls and text messages are blocked so people can't register new accounts anymore or get into their existing ones if they log out and don't have reserve email. This is almost impossible to circumvent.
