      @Daojoan Because they were trained on Reddit's corpus.

          @Daojoan

          I wonder how closely aligned the "cryptocurrency" and "opinions about age of consent laws" vectors are in large language models

            @Daojoan 2026 being what it is, I'm assuming it's because half of them actually *are* AI-generated.

              @tstudent @Daojoan I've traveled in those circles since the early '90s and that's simply not true. Crypto Bro libertarianism is very different from what came before.

              In the span of about five years the movement went from "individualism because we can make a better world" to "individualism because fuck you".

              That's why I don't travel in those circles anymore:

                @gbargoud @Daojoan Libertarianism used to be about performing gay abortions while smoking weed, not oh fuck I'm in the Epstein files in 23 places.

                  @Daojoan I mean, they were always libertarians, even back in 2010.

                      @SteveFoerster I was referring to antipathy towards age of consent laws specifically, which has been a feature of the ideology for as long as it has existed (and pretty darkly funny). I agree that the current breed has zero culture and is pure Id, with zero checks
