@mcc related: have you tried qalc / qalculate? someone recommended it to me a while back and I've never looked back.

wolfram does handle this correctly if you use TB instead of tb, though admittedly i have run into more than my fair share of cases where getting it to use the right unit for something feels like pulling teeth

@mcc Kagi recently for some reason isn’t doing math for me at all, i‘m wondering if it’s some kind of issue or if it actually just never did (but i think it did?)

@halcy one option is to enter an unambiguous math expression like 1 + 1 and then the math expression box lets you type in additional math expressions

@mcc a site (local file?) could probably serve a wasm-backed qalc web-cli, but they have an android app, which is still nice to have over eg. tmux -- has a custom-options field, and qalc has options for many things i wished to see

@mcc, that was odd, so I went and tried using the same with uppercase TB and MB and it worked as intended on Wolfram Alpha. I hope this helps.
Kinda funny and messed up what you unearthed there though - trying to visualise (table)spooning up (computer) bytes.
