      @someguy

It would probably be way less common, if so many people would use an actual definition, instead of just whether it "feels like mansplaining" to them.

In some contexts, I've even seen disagreement being framed as mansplaining (which it can be, but not necessarily is), because if you disagree with a woman as a man, you're "explaining your opinion/the reason why you disagree to her", which is just absurd.

To many, the term seems to be misleading.

I've never seen a single incident of actual mansplaining, that would have needed this chart, since "Do I actually care about this topic, or do I just want female attention?", would have already been enough.

Tend to have an annoying habit of agreeing wholeheartedly with a post, then adding link dumps of examples & expansions of how wonderfully correct they are.

            It's mistaken for mansplaining.

Or as hijacking the intent of their post.

Or as "Teaching grandmother to suck eggs" .

Apologies once again for the irritation this habit causes.

You know your stuff, comments from the peanut gallery aren't always helpful.

Theoretically, in some alternate universe where women hold most of the power and have historically steamrolled right over any man who dared to know stuff, maybe. In the universe we actually live in though, womansplaining is not a thing.

@Roodie This ^ is whataboutism, an attempt to undermine the point being made, a common follow-on in mansplaining which attempts to contest the mansplained expert's legitimacy and authority.

                          I get it.

I'd find it irritating too if someone was jostling my elbow as I tried to communicate.

                          The feedback is appreciated.

as an Autist, my experience is being told I’m mansplaining while simultaneously not being heard and the mansplaining offence was for stuff I do not think and never said but every NT person thinks all by themselves and the thing I said that they didn’t know they still don’t know.
                                  .
There’s no sense mansplaining to some people. 😜

                                      I hear you.
I think the difference is your 'tone' when replying-there's no disrespect .

@SnowyCA @Npars01 @sundogplanets Sadly I've seen Nicole yelled at recently. The problem is people sometimes just want to be social with experts - just show off they know something or ask a question. Depends on the user it seems, some are untouchable and think her replies in earnest are explaining. Not everything is a correction/explanation. Sometimes I think it's just "yes and..."
