I am looking for a piece of software to replicate this process that has a bit more control in recording. I am doing this in real time moving sliders but the software does not let you record automation or have a timeline to capture gestures. There was an artist on X that I used to follow that produced stuff like this, kind of smearing of morphing visuals but no idea how to record these movements. Any advice on platforms or software that would replicate this type of stuff ?

@oin there's some tools kinda like this in the #Glitché app (mobile only i believe) but it's all pretty limited, very specific tools w/in the app that can do that sorta morphing + recording (& not terribly high quality if that matters).

i imagine you could write something in Processing or something similar that might do this? but i'm very much a beginner w/ it so that might be a huge undertaking that i don't grasp the scope of.

hopefully someone else can chime in w/ options for you.

@tsrono I did find this on my travels and it looks really good but it be cool if there was some integration with a timeline based editor for a bit more control https://moshpro.app/

@oin oh interesting, at a glance there's some good stuff in there. & a one-time purchase is a good sign these days, if it's a touch on the pricey side... will have to try this out and see if it's something i could have fun messing with.

@tsrono @oin I've been using Mosh Pro for lots of things. Kind of funny how it works, but can get some nice results.

This was pretty much all Mosh Pro (lots of layers run against single stems of different parts of the track, imported into Resolve and chopped up)
            https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fJrGaws3uwc

Pretty sure this was also mostly Mosh Pro:
