            @josephcox I always found it strange that people trusted Apple so much just because of times in the past when they really wouldn't have benefited from giving up user info. It was just a matter of time until giving up info wouldn't hurt them and they would do it.

            If anyone is actually counting on them to help against the regime, they need to seriously reconsider.

                So it’s hidden until *checks notes* the email provider gets a visit from the FBI (it did not say they’d received a court order…) because someone was using their service to threaten the girlfriend of the FBI director.

                If anyone thinks any American email provider (and I suspect a bunch of foreign ones!) would refuse that, especially given the current administration, they’re high.
