I live paycheck-to-paycheck, and I'm on the flexible energy plan with SDG&E, so I'm leveraging low rates this morning along with food I found on offer from Ralph's this week and doing some meal prep this morning

leftover grilled chilis from last evening and leftover sauteed mushrooms from breakfast this morning, will be going into a batch of rice I'm now making for fried rice this week

we've been trying to throw away less and use all the food we buy.
fried rice is definitely popping up more often as a great way to use stray bits.
omelettes were also one of my goto's but eggs aren't the cheap meal they used to be.
risottos and polentas are also an affordable way to stretch food and use everything.

@paul_ipv6 aye, same with stews and soups - I think waste reduction, especially with food is awesome, but the fact that it's a survival strategy is heartbreaking
