I really dunno what I'm doing for #Guix to take so long to install. Every attempt I've made so far has usually resulted in me with a fucked up install that doesn't work.

@Saorsa If you mean your install is literally taking too long, consider taking a look at Guix.moe: https://ultrarare.space/en/posts/guix-build-farm/

It's a build farm that can (not exaggerating) provide speedups up to 100x the official mirrors' speed. When I was playing around with Guix base mirrors often gave me a couple hundred kbps at most, while the moe farm was easily pushing several hundred mbps.

Cheers, I'll keep that in mind. Managed to finally get an installation up and running the other day but KDE Plasma for whatever reason had no title bar for exiting out of applications.

@Saorsa Are you by chance running Nvidia? If so, I'm pretty sure I've faced that exact bug. Maybe my experiences can provide some help: https://nemin.hu/guix.html

Just curious, how quick can Guix.moe speed things up? Just that updating Guix for me has taken ages to the point where trying to change something is a massive pain in the ass.

Hope that it'll provide speeds comparable to other package managers.
