Gallup deciding not to do presidential approval ratings any more is like McDonald’s deciding to stop making french fries. The amount of fear and cowardice necessary for them to do this is just staggering.

@inthehands A potential interpretation I could is that this be a sign of resistance where there's too much pressure to cook the books, so they're "resigning in protest".

Gallup’s statement on the matter is just a messy heap of bland-ass gobbdlegook. For it to be resigning in protest, they would have to actually make some kind of protest. -

@inthehands also, today I learned that the origin of the word is an individual, a certain infamous Vidkun Quisling.
Wow. It takes a very special kind of person for a country with a 70 year history of abolishing the death penalty to say, "Well, for you ... we'll make an exception."
