Hey #Ottawa!
How would you like to have a #Mastodon of Ottawa meet-up on Saturday, May 30th, with a rain day of Sunday the 31st?
Location: I wanted something outdoors, with shade, picnic tables, easy access via LRT, bike paths, and parking for #AutoWa users.
I'm thinking a bring-you-own picnic type event, so I'm suggesting the two parks in the poll. Please vote for both if you are fine with either.

@WTL Oh I didn't realise I could vote for both. I got fooled. So yes either is fine.

@WTL selfishly, Strathcona is way easier for me to get to so I voted for that one

@astrovore Strathcona park is easier to get to in general, especially by transit - and is more central - and is quite close to where we live too.

Alas, I must send regrets (health/disability issues) but I'll be following the upcoming toots with great interest!

@drakakis Too bad; if your situation changes, be great to see you.

@WTL going to put this in the calendar. Looks like an interesting bike route from my Nepean location. Might give it a try ahead of time to explore.
There's a newish ped/bike bridge into VM park from Carleton U isn't there?

@WTL oh wait there's a route under the Heron Rd bridge from Hog's Back. That's a nice route to the picnic ground from the west.
-
@gardencat @WTL I do want to walk/ride over that bridge someday soon. I went to Carleton long before the bridge and it seems like an impossible luxury.

-
@gardencat @ottaross It's a fairly short walk. I'll map it out if you like.

@ottaross Lots of ways there from Nepean. Take one route there, another back.

@WTL that's a weekend I have my kids, so any planned outing may be aborted at the last second if someone is sick/tired/angry/sees a cool rock, but I'd love to try and make it!

More like there might be family obligations, wherein being a parent takes priority.
Somedays I need parenting.

@WTL good plan. A nice tour.

@antonio106 @WTL I know, right? The five years I was at Carleton, I'd never once gone to VM park as it was so inaccessible back then without a car β but you could stare at it across the river.
