@jerry what do you say to the idea that the 'middle powers' instances such as you and stux and maybe a few others share some bucket (idk) at the edge for all the emphemeral trash, video and the like that is duplicated across hundreds of instances? commie centralisation pooling resources like a collective ikr but it would save everybody and the little tiny user instances could even get involved, some might even pay. I realise the devil is in the detail. idk what you do atm.

I wouldn't want to adopt them exactly, but maybe buy them a coffee and engage in a conversation about how the fediverse works, and how people are motivated to create such a thing. Am somewhat afraid that they would not believe me though. They'd be welcome to the coffee anyway.
