Love’s not the lock; it’s the hole cut in the fence. If William Blake didn’t say it, he should have. #NYC #photography #smartphone #love

@Alice@LGBTQIA.space There probably aren’t enough locks on this particular fence to make it worth a special trip, but if you ever visit @futurebird@sauropods.win in the Bronx, I could connect you with these in Manhattan. #NYC

A buddy of mine is actually going across the Brooklyn bridge with an angle grinder and has harvested 800 lbs of love locks so far.

@gbargoud oh no! Don't murder them!
Although, if they need a place for those 800lbs of locks, I'd happily take them off their hands.

Then there are all of the key-drop locks which are another matter.

Attached: 1 image Here is something that mystified me about Manhattan I have only recently puzzled out: These big padlocks that decorate the fences and tree wells on the streets with brownstones. They are key safes: these allow housekeepers, air bnb, repairmen and estate agents access by a combination— there are more and more of them every year. I feel like there ought to be a better solution— still this beats using some door lock app.

We've tried convincing him to pick them but there are just too many.
He has plans to make an art piece with them and in any case I don't think cross country shipping for nearly half a ton of scrap metal is a good idea

@gbargoud I meant more like, have a mutual friend bring a box in my direction.
I have a puzzlebox that was made in Australia by a friend, that then traveled all the way to Seattle and was delivered by a mutual friend.
