@mynameistillian I have become so wary of communists for this exact reason. So many are just like "the cops are terrible, prison is terrible, politicians are terrible. but they'd all be great if me and my friends controlled them."
And then different groups of communists hate each other and want to lock each other up.
The anarchist perspective of "maybe nobody should have this power over others" is much comfier to me.

@Misofist @mynameistillian Any perspective that goes "but if I held that power everything would be fine" is horribly inaccurate. The problem isn't inherently those with access to the tools, it's that the tools even exist. If the tools of oppression still exist (not "are regulated and abuse is punishable"), all it takes is someone willing to use the tools.
Just because a different group controls the Orphan Crushing Machine doesn't change the fact that the Orphan Crushing Machine continues to exist, maybe just locked away for the time being.
