    #ICE is losing, dramatically, in the courts. They have lost over 10,000 cases of the 11,000ish cases brought before judges.

    Of course, losing in court does not take away the pain, the suffering, nor the fear caused by these illegal detentions. But it is good to see (most) judges doing what they can to rein in this evil.

      @FantasticalEconomics

      It does establish a pattern of malicious prosecutions and illegal arrests though. This can be used to go after the collaborators later.

        @HakeemG

        Absolutely. It is a good thing, and I'm happy to see it.

        I just don't want to brush off the real harm being caused that don't go away just because courts, rightfully, find the arrests illegal.

          @FantasticalEconomics @HakeemG Police abolitionists and decarceration activists say something to the effect that you may have certain rights on paper and in the courtroom but you don’t really have them on the street, where the cops are, in any meaningful way.

          Just because you get your day in court and win does not un-violate your rights or undo the life-altering damage of those violations.
