      @ricardo I try not to be a Luddite and accept Wayland is here to stay anyway but I can’t deny I the security side has annoyed me more than once.

      The diversity of the Linux ecosystem is great and all but when you suddenly can’t just copy-paste from one app to another it’s kind of maddening (notably 1Password on Asahi Linux forces me to copy from the Firefox plugin 🙄. Yes I can be blamed for using commercial software.).

        @ricardo@bsd.cafe this person doesn't even get the terminology right. X11 and wayland aren't display servers, they are protocols. Xorg and compositors are display servers.

        It's 2026 and people are still making missinfo posts around wayland and quoting Lunduke. Fuck these people.

          @ricardo maybe theres some good points in this article, but it feels super biased to me. personally i dont really care which one i use.
