Latest in my coin restauration efforts, after 2 dips in Coca Cola + water for a few days, the coin now looks like this.
It started out as a blackened cupper coin that also had some blue-ish gunk on it, don't ask me what it was, but now it looks better.
I'm testing this on this 5 öre coin from 1963 to see how it works, i have additional coins like this to see how the effects of this cleaning procedure. I'm not totally convinced that the effect of the cocacola + carbonic acid is totally neutralized by the follow up water bath so i guess time will tell.
If it works, it works, if not then i've only lost 1 coin. But for now the results looks GREAT!

@Ichinin I used to cover the coin in ketchup over night, usually works just fine too
