@keepassxc To enable payments via WERO, I think you have to provide the QR-Code or the correspond email address. The link does not work for me.

@sparfindig The QR code contains exactly that link. This seems to be an issue with the Sparkasse app specifically. You can also donate to wero at keepassxc.org.

@keepassxc Maybe you could add an EPC QR Code for easy SEPA direct transfers? See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EPC_QR_code for reference.

@keepassxc Yes, the link opens the app, but no wero transaction is started. I suggested the qr code because of the many customers using the app from Sparkasse.

@sparfindig The QR code would do the same. The only way I could imagine it to make a difference is if you scan it from within the app. But then why would it even bother opening when you scan it externally? This looks like a bug to me.

@lennybacon It's a separate account to manage and people could do funny things with direct debit. Thanks for the donation!

@compfu Your name (with last name as asterisks if you haven't checked the full name reveal option).
Edit: in the transaction list on the actual checking account it always shows your full name with a Wero transaction ID. So it seems that the asterisks are rather useless.

@keepassxc thanks! That makes sense though, as it's always tied to a bank account and a normal SEPA transaction would also reveal your name.

@keepassxc @73CC Wero worked! I was a bit confused at first that your Wero link pointed to a page where I needed to select my bank. I thought it would just directly be a QR code like you can generate from the Wero app. After I selected my bank I got a QR code that was supposed to open Wero on my phone but didn't. But that's not your fault I guess. This all happened on Wero's official site after all.

@compfu @keepassxc @73CC for me, the Wero link did not work. I think this is my bank's app's fault, though. After selecting my bank, the app opens (good) but does not pre-fill anything. I would have to search for the recipient there (for which I don't have the necessary information).

If you could add a qr code, that might help, but I am not 100% sure.

@claudius @compfu @73CC QR code is already added. This is definitely an app bug. It probably works when you scan the code from within the app (not with the iOS scanner, Google lens or what have you). But why the app opens when you click the link or scan the code with your phone's native scanner, but then refuses to prefill the credentials remains a mystery. You should contact your banking app's provider about it.

@keepassxc @sparfindig the trick is: you can scan that code from *inside* the app, and that seems to work. But opening from a link loses the important information for some reason.

@keepassxc @sparfindig that said: qr is useless for this particular case unless you also have a second device to scan *from*. Because this is purely a camera-based scanner.

@z3ntu @keepassxc The pure mobile process does not work for me. After clicking on the donate via Wero link, it asks me to select my bank (Sparkasse) and then it forwards me to their website. From there it goes to Google Play and sometimes it opens the already installed app (and sometimes not). When it opens, the Wero process starts but without prefilled recipient and putting Janek Bevendorff manually does not work ("is not registered at Wero").

What worked in the end is scanning the Wero QR code 🙂 This was my first time using Wero, it needs to improve a little bit and then its fine.

@apollo3zehn @z3ntu Complain to your Sparkasse. Their app has problems. There’s also an email address when you hover over the QR code button you can use. Thanks for the donation!
