Imagine if US voters had picked Kamala Harris. She would have continued the Ukraine weapons support, she would have kept the strong alliances with Europe, and she would never have killed the Iran nuclear deal.
Together we could have forced Putin out of Ukraine, there would have been no new, wider war in The Middle East, and the NATO alliance would have been stronger than ever. And in that situation, I think our economies would have been considerably stronger too.
Populism derailed all that.
Also masochism and racism.

@randahl Yes, but while she might eventually have listened to the public, she wasn't strong against Gaza, which is *SO* much worse than Trump declaring that they should speed up the genocide and definitely worth throwing away our entire democracy to prevent.

Hmm Again I say; Biden/Harris had set up to regain the economy of WWII to 70's when the GOP went to war on what was becoming a nation for us all.
Look at their effort to rebuild Unions, educational help & the little strides over pharmaceuticals, junk fees and more + the 5 bills that djt doesn't dare release would have set us again on path to government for "we the people"
GOP, Nixon, Reagan, Bush & tRump fought for 55 yrs to kill it, B/H almost got it back in 4.

@oneiros @randahl I hear you, brother... but I'm not so sure. Russia wasn't listening to Harris while she was literally in office. All of her promises were for a future date to be determined as if she wasn't already in a position of power.
Not a Trump fan either, but this dude even has his inlaws talking to people.
My bigger point was that the presidential vote in the U.S. gives the illusion of inclusion because the electoral college, not the mom and pop, pick the president.

@randahl@oneiros @randahl It's not my place to tell anyone what they should do... and some elections might really move based on votes. My one point was that The Presidential Election in the U.S., regardless of where you vote at, is decided by the electoral college, completely autonomous of the popular vote.
I didn't create that idea, but people keep blaming each other over who voted for who and they don't decide it anyway. Feel free to look it up.
