When macOS 27 is released later this year, my (last of the Intel’s) Macbook Pro will no longer be supported. So, since it still looks and works great, I’ll be installing Linux on it.
No reason to create more e-waste, or waste money.Once the #GrapheneOS #Motorola phones are released in 2027, if the reviews are good, I’ll likely make the switch. And, I’ll have Linux on both my primary devices which pleases me.
Already decided that when my Apple Watch Ultra dies I’m going back to a regular dumbwatch. Sick of being tracked & recorded.
When my iPad dies I’ll find a Linux tablet to replace it. Those options are ever changing so I’ll see what’s around when the time comes.
When my Apple TV croaks I’ll just use the built in Roku stuff on my tv.
Giving my Home Pods to a friend, I don’t want them always listening, and to be honest the sound isn’t great.
I’m going to put a VPN on my router too, so everything uses it. Instead of on just some devices like now.
I’m opting out of being controlled and monitored.

@von Yeah, I'm looking forward to the GrapheneOS phone from Motorola.

@von I’m not that familiar with MacOS but won’t 26 (Tahoe) be supported for quite a while?
No reason to go Linux when MacOS 27 releases, unless you just want to go Linux in general. Which, hey, fair enough.
When my ipad dies I’m just going to replace it under applecare, as it’s the only device I’ve kept monthly applecare on. It’s not a waste of money - they’ve already had to replace it once. Applecare is the best decision I’ve ever made for this tablet.
