    The stupidity is breathtaking. If the consequences weren't so irreversible, global, existential, it'd be laughable. But it isn't.

    Such corruption of gvmt by the fossil industry, such capitalism has only one value: profit. Life, the future, the planet count for nothing.

      @W_Lucht

      Get mad today, then look forward.

      In 2027 and 2029, we restore most of the Constitution and take the opportunity to fix the following:

      * Primacy of Congress
      * Reverse Citizens United and Buckley
      * Revisit Roe
      * Promulgate emoluments statutes

        @W_Lucht was nützt alles zetern. Gäbe es keinen Krieg in der Ukraine, keine Drohung gegen Alliierte (Canada und Greenland), keine Wirtschaftsflaute, könnten wir Druck machen. Aber wir müssen, im übertragenen Sinne, unser Pulver trocken halten. Für noch schlimmeres.
        Die US-Wirtschaft weiß zudem, das diese Regelung schon nach den Midterms wieder gekippt sein könnte. Sie wird vorsichtig sein.

          @vgoller @W_Lucht

          Aber es wird keine freien Midterm Wahlen geben. Dafür wird gerade gesorgt.

            @W_Lucht Capitalism mixed with big tech has become a apocalyptic ideology.

              That would indeed be a good outcome, under the circumstances - and would serve the US' self-interest better than the maga delusions.

              But two things give pause. First, I don't think it's clear that the manipulative craziness really will stop; most didn't think Trump would be elected at all, but here we are. And second, there are arguments for why things won't return to the old order even if. Too much has moved on. I think widening cracks in the neoliberal system are driving this.

                "We see the iceberg from 15 miles away
                The captain orders the ship to "stay the course"
                "Full speed ahead" shouts the accurst
                The next thing we heard was, "rich women and children first"
                The ship is listing, the captain's placing blame on the iceberg
                "That berg attacked us, I am declaring war on the Arctic""
