              Funny how that works.
Most people would go to jail for a few days contempt for bringing an active video camera into court.

@johntimaeus @munin Just talking back to a judge will get poor people contempt of court, billionaires get away with whatever they like. This is Zuckerberg's own product and this isn't the first time he's been defending himself in court, if they don't see serious repercussions then the judge is not fit to be a judge.

@deepmud @munin Jury tampering (which would cover deliberately deanonymising jurors) is a separate and more serious charge. And they absolutely should be prosecuted for it.

Yeah, the crazy thing about content warning is that if you describe why you’re planting it then the filter itself that people use seems to be doing the job better. I don’t know it’s one of those corner cases that filtering words makes a whole lot more sense.

Scolds? For taking cameras into court? Automatic contempt of court sentence surely? The US legal system seems unduly harsh on everyday citizens but so accommodating to the wealthy.

Just goes to show how arrogant these tech bros and their supporters are, granted these glasses may not be turned on, but they could easily wear just normal sunglasses or glasses (if needed) which would not have provoked a reaction.

There may be nothing to this, but they are not helping themselves.

Just goes to show how arrogant these tech bros and their supporters are, granted these glasses may not be turned on, but they could easily wear just normal sunglasses or glasses (if needed) which would not have provoked a reaction.

There may be nothing to this, but they are not helping themselves.

@zleap @munin “there may be nothing to this”—-I disagree, but I think the point they are making is that they consider themselves above the law.

If they aren’t held in contempt then they get away with it, and THAT is the point.

@munin Every time I've entered a federal or county courthouse—sometimes to serve jury duty, to support a relative before a judge, or to just do some business with the county—I've had to put my phone into a locker. Only lawyers could bring their phones into the building. And I would be checked by guards to ensure that I didn't break the rules.

I can’t imagine that Zuckerberg & co. didn’t know that they were violating the rules of the court.
