Interesting.

America -> EU looks like a consistent long-term trend interrupted by covid. I don't see much visible change associated with the Obama administration (or the ACA) or the first Trump administration. Not clear yet if the 2nd Trump admin will overshoot the pre-covid trendline.

EU -> America looks like it was dropping during Bush, stayed constant during Obama + Trump 1, but has not recovered and may drop further during Trump 2.

We could do like them after WW2, and just accept the scientists and those of worth to us, regardless of beliefs or their actions during the given crisis.

That said, let's not be like them, since the thought sickens me.
