At this point I am beyond convinced that everyone talking about filter bubbles and echo chambers is simply concern trolling and is following some nefarious agenda

Yeah just like keeping out the Sarin gas from where people live is creating a breathable air bubble. What is your point
@schratze Yep. It also goes together with "if you defederate / block me, you are attacking my free speech" as if free speech meant absolute right to be listened to.

@schratze My fav streamer once put it... "Complaining about filter bubbles? Have you even seen The Unfiltered Internet? It's a cesspool full of filth, always has been. I want and need a bubble around the hobby I love and care about."

The fact that nazi instances exist at all is unacceptable to begin with if you ask me

@schratze Not all of those are Nazis; I'd guess less than 1/3 of auth-right are actually white supremacist christfuckers. The rest are just your old relatives who tell racist jokes on f*c*book, or that guy who hasn't left the farm in 20 years, thinks Taco Bell is illegal immigrants.

@schratze During WW II my great uncle "reasoned" with nazis via the business end of an M1.

@schratze Correct and cannot be emphasized enough.
There is no such thing as a lack of an info bubble. There's info bubbles that constrain / diminish / harm their participants... And info bubbles that do not. Painting them as equivalent was a very impressive sleight-of-hand executed by some of the worst people who had huge incentive to make people believe that Fox News and NPR are equivalent information sources.
