The moment someone tells you that 'our methane has less carbon than the other guys methane' you know that they either don't understand basic chemistry or they are lying (admittedly there is a 3rd option that both are true)

@stephanie@ottawa.placeWell ain't that a pickle, Canada has one of the worlds largest fossil fuel resources and can't sell it for a price to break even. This is a problem since I think Carney was hoping to use it as a source of revenue to help restructure Canada away from US economic dominance. This is the reason why I think Carney cut back on climate policies and mou'ed with Alberta to build a pipeline. With the capture of Venezuelan oil, there is now a risk of losing the US market or they'll use it as a threat to keep prices low. Most importantly the world is moving on from fossil fuels, except for North America. It is now cheaper to build renewable energy rather than building more oil infrastructure.
