@ojelabii @WindOfChange @streetartutopia yea well I get called an antisemite a lot and blocked too. Just take it in Germany being called a zionist is a lot less harmful than being called a antisemite. I take it it might be different if you live in Ireland or Spain. Get used to it people are not rational with this topic, which is understandable considering the mountain of corpses we are talking about.
@zeri Oh, I'm fine with it. I just don't think, that I qualify by definition with that term. (And to to be honest: I knew what to expect, when I firstly responded here. Still: I think that speaking with each other [rather than blocking each other away] is the only way to end conflicts really.) And yes, I'm careful with giving out labels as well (or at least… I try to)! So no label for you here, I'm afraid. Have a nice day and thanks for the time you took for this!

Stop equating war (and potential war crimes) with planned, industrialized annihilation of people.
This is antisemitic bullshit. Period.@ifrauding @leeloo the planned, industrialised annihilation of people is exactly what Israel is doing to Palestinians.
-
@streetartutopia Unless there's a fixed webcam that's miraculously stayed in place there despite every building around it being leveled then this is AI generated. Both images have pixel-perfect identical framing, which is impossible to achieve years apart even in perfect conditions. Given the abundance of genuine photographic evidence of the destruction of Gaza it seems unhelpful to spread AI-generated approximations that risk feeding zionist narratives about fabricated evidence.
@streetartutopia wonder which type of munitions can cause this specific very interesting pattern of damage to electrical poles

@ojelabii @zeri @streetartutopia
Bombing for peace is fucking for virginity.
@Walruths Agreed, wholeheartedly! Yet I don't see this in conflict to what I wrote above.

The best thing about your comment - it is not clear to me which you are calling a war and which you are calling "planned industrialized annihilation of people".The latter fits both. Though I would argue that WW2 was more of a war than the genocide in Gaza, but you sound like someone who would call tanks and fighter jets murdering unarmed civilians a war, no matter how proud that would make Joseph Goebbels.
-
@leeloo i think it's best to reject crimes on their own merit.
Israel did this. It's a war crime and a genocide. They stand accused by the ICC and rightfully so.
Bringing up Oct 7, or the Holocaust just provides irrelevant distractions from the very clear legal and ethical reality.
There's no excuse, no debate, no comparison, just judgement and punishment for them. The only place this should be allowed to be defended is in court in the Hague.
@iwein @streetartutopia
No. Calling such comparison "irrelevant distractions" is exactly how fascist defend supporting one genocide while condemning the other. -

@streetartutopia hate it when the IDF bombs my 1x1 red wooden outhouse and turns it into a 4x5 concrete ruin

@streetartutopia I will never again find a good word for Isreal, unless it's a horribly fitting one. Call me anti-semitic if you wish; this statement has nothing to do with the Jewish religion. All you do is prove how poor your knowledge of the English language is.

@henry Exactly what I suspected. Thank you.

Thanks @streetartutopia for this. May I reuse this picture ? If yes, whats the source for citation ?
Thanks & regards -

I've seen a lot of hasbarra accounts bringing up Oct 7 or the Holocaust to frame this war crime and genocide as self defense though.
Let's just take them to the Hague and leave the arguments to the lawyers and the judging to the judges?

@streetartutopia This image makes me equally sad and incandescently angry.

@iwein
Unless you have personal contacts who can do that, no, we need to keep shouting until our own politicians get the message. -
@yonkeltron @ojelabii @streetartutopia look at the bright side nobody is blowing up the Kneset or girl schools in Tel Aviv. And again, non-reciprocity I don't understand why you people keep insisting one crime is ok because someone else is doing something similar or worse? Nobody likes Iran but if you guys insist on behaving like Hamas & Iran maybe you should receive the same treatment you prescribe for them.

@zeri @ojelabii @streetartutopia Hamas would blow them up if they could, and we know this because they’re honest about what they want.
Also when you say “you deserve” clearly you’re referring to Jews. Thanks for being honest about what you want.

@zeri "[…] insisting one crime is ok because someone else is doing something similar or worse". It's rather the other way around in my case! I do not say, that one crime is okay. What I try to say is: please don't overlook those other crimes by focusing alone on this one. (I do not say, that you did so, but many does, in my perception.) This one crime is a crime and a crime is never good. But let us not close our eyes to all the other crimes to only highlight this.

@zeri @ojelabii @streetartutopia wait hold on are you a fellow NixOS user? I deployed it on all the servers in my house cluster and absolutely love it. Even got nix-Darwin on my macOS device and I’m a total zealot about it now. Go figure, it’s a small world.
Is it your daily driver?

@yonkeltron @ojelabii @streetartutopia stop that antisemite bullshit Israel is not "the jews" it's Israel. There are so many jews that don't want anything to do with that little revenge party Israel is throwing in gaza. So take your bullshit and put it where the sun doesn't shine you fucking antisemite! You wouldn't lay ISIS at the feet of Moslems in Indonesia either.
-
@zeri Firstly: That comparison »is« devastating. Secondly: If you write "nothing justifies this" … would that count for the Hamas »as well« (which knowingly started this all with their October 7 attacks from 2023)?
@streetartutopia@ojelabii @zeri @streetartutopia it's like saying "that person is a murdered, we'll go to their hometown, kill everyone there and destroy every building".
That's not justice. It's a pretext for senseless barbary. -

@yonkeltron @streetartutopia@ojelabii @yonkeltron @streetartutopia that wasn't aimed at you but at mr "look Iran, Isis, Hamas, Sudan, all horrible stop looking at gaza you antisemite" over there who is damning Israel with faint praise.
