@Waf you need to purchase a new domain and then setup a new instance from scratch. Once you’re done you forward the old domain to the new one.
All your users will need to register again.

@waf@dataare.cool I don't think you can do that easily at the moment.
The moment you switch domains, every ID changes, and the user accounts are de facto new to the fediverse. They'll lose all followers, and all content from pre-migration will no longer belong to them.
I regret to inform you I don't have a solution for this yet...

If you don’t have many users on the server, inform the users about the name change and just change it. I did that several times because I was never satisfied with the domain name. But the consequences are there, as @julian says.
