    'The relationship between the United States and Israel is in crisis. Six in 10 Americans have a negative view of Israel, and a majority of those under 50 in both major parties view Israel as well as its prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, negatively.'

    Dems and the GOP share responsibility for stoking this problem in recent years.

      @f800gecko

      The idea that the parties share responsibility for this is absurd. Every single Republican voted for funding Israel and Israel remains wildly popular with GOP politicians and their base. Not a single Republican voted against aid to Israel.

      This also downplays the role that Bernie and the leftists have played in allowing this to happen. Bernie has spent decades in Washington allowing Israel to operate their apartheid state with impunity. He only recently called it a genocide.

          It was a major failing on Biden's part. It's been a major failing of the country as a whole for decades as Israel has moved into the West Bank and displaced Palestinians. I just don't understand why people think Bernie and the leftists are so much better.

          Bernie had to go to Ireland to get called out for his genocide support and he still refuses to call it out for what it is and people act like they're good with that.

            Here's Bernie stumbling through an interview on the subject. Meanwhile Democratic president Jimmy Carter wrote a book on the matter in 2006.

              Don't get me wrong, I'm no Bernie-bro, though I somethings see him as a necessary gadfly when he's not being a complete nuisance. I'm no fellow of the GOP.

              What I resent is Biden's well-intended but -- to me -- wrong-headed approach to a situation that has changed as older Israelis and Americans who understood the Holocaust for what it was age out and a new generation instrumentalizes it for an expansionist agenda under which Palestinians have been treated like vermin.

                My only disagreement with your original statement is that it's basically pro MAGA propaganda that makes it seem like Israeli defense isn't predominantly a right wing issue now.
