Reza Pahlavi, figlio in esilio dell'ultimo scià, ha dichiarato di essere pronto ad assumere la leadership di un governo transitorio che guiderà l'Iran "non appena cadrà la Repubblica islamica". In un post sui social network, Pahlavi, che risiede negli Stati Uniti, ha indicato che sta lavorando per selezionare "personalità competenti in Iran e all'estero" da coinvolgere in un "sistema di transizione". Sistema che "sotto la mia direzione sarà pronto ad assumere il governo del Paese non appena cadrà la Repubblica islamica". E, nel più breve tempo possibile, punterà "a instaurare l'ordine, la sicurezza, la libertà e le condizioni per la prosperità dell'Iran", ha scritto Pahlavi, in farsi e in inglese. A svolgere il processo di selezione della nuova leadership è Saeed Ghasseminejad, consigliere per l'Iran della Foundation for Defense of Democracies, think tank basato negli Usa.

Reza Pahlavi, the exiled son of the last Shah, has stated that he is ready to assume leadership of a transitional government that will guide Iran “as soon as the Islamic Republic falls.” In a social media post, Pahlavi, who resides in the United States, has indicated that he is working to select “competent personalities in Iran and abroad” to be involved in a “transitional system.” This system “under my direction will be ready to assume the government of the country as soon as the Islamic Republic falls.” And, as quickly as possible, it will “aim to establish order, security, freedom, and the conditions for Iran’s prosperity,” Pahlavi wrote, in Farsi and English. Conducting the selection process for new leadership is Saeed Ghasseminejad, Iran advisor for the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, a U.S.-based think tank.
