The Israeli occupation forces imposed a full lockdown on the West Bank, restricting the movement of Palestinians within cities and towns and setting up additional military checkpoints, in a move that further tightened the siege on the region.

At the same time, the forces cleared the courtyards of Al Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem of worshippers and closed its gates to entry, marking an unprecedented escalation in years.

These measures coincided with the war on Iran, during which Israel and the United States carried out airstrikes on Iranian targets, while Tel Aviv and its allies announced a security escalation in the occupied territories.
