It’s been a year or two since I last looked at the federated timeline. I remember it being a flood of nonsense and Japanese posts. This time, it’s almost all bot accounts! No exaggeration 9 out of 10 posts were automated.

#fediverse@Moss It's a losing battle. You can defederate/suspend known bot accounts or entire instances but they just pop up again and again.
The only way to really combat this would be to disable federation and become a silo.
However, I am surprised beige.party hasn't disabled the live timelines, especially for unregistered users.

@WestFox35 it’s kind of amazing how little of that flood of automation leaks into the local and home timelines though. Almost the only times I see bots are because of a hashtag I follow, or someone boosting them.

@Moss Yeah, which is why I'm surprised the live feeds are still enabled on your instance. Even mastodon.social has disabled them
