@akmarinov @finestructure maybe this was the whole reason behind the prize in the first place: to bring about a regime change.
If that comes out as the truth, FIFA will be lauded forever. Leaders will be scared to be nominated for their Peace Prize.

Today's news is the apotheosis of my adage: "Awful people are awful to *everyone*, including each other."
Except when it happens at scale, like today, a powerful lot of innocents get caught in the crossfire.
