I've spent lots of time in hospitals in the last 1 - 2 years (not for myself, for other people). Most of the health care professionals I see are nurses, by a huge margin. There's a lot of hands on stuff that doctors don't do.

Cutting nursing positions will absolutely have a negative effect on care.
